Our Story
At Huggins Dental, we are proud to serve our community with exceptional dental care since our opening in 2020. Founded with a vision to create a practice built on trust, compassion, and excellence, our team of experienced dentists is dedicated to providing personalized care for every patient.
Doctors Zack and Elizabeth Huggins started Huggins Dental to serve the dental needs of Greenville, Travelers Rest and the surrounding areas. After working in the Air Force and in several practices over the years, it was clear to the them that in order to have the most technologically advanced practice and provide the most comfortable and consistent care to their patients, they needed to start their own practice. Huggins Dental was born.
Since opening in 2020, Huggins Dental has continued to grow into the family oriented, thriving dental practice that it is today. We continue to add valuable and highly skilled members to our amazing team. We are all COMMITTED to the common purpose of SERVING the dental needs of the upstate with EXCELLENCE and INTEGRITY.
Dr. Zack Huggins
General Dentist
Dr. Zack Huggins was born and raised in Orangeburg, SC. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of South Carolina. Following graduation, he started dental school at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Zack excelled in the classroom and the clinic and received the award for Best Clinician at graduation. While in dental school, he received the Health Professions Scholarship with the United States Air Force.
Upon graduation in 2015, Dr. Zack was accepted to a 1 year Advanced General Dentistry residency at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. There, he graduated with exceptional marks for clinical skills and efficiency. He was chosen to assist in the building and launching the Air Force’s newest dental clinic, located at Buckley Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado.
For the next 3 years, Dr. Zack launched the Buckley Dental Clinic and served active duty military from all branches of the United States as well as International Armed Forces. He was quoted by his commanding officer as an “Innovative Pace-setter” and a “Brilliant Clinician/Natural Leader”.
In June 2019, Dr. Zack separated from the Air Force and moved back to SC with his family to open Huggins Dental. He is passionate about serving the dental needs of the people of the upstate.
Dr. Elizabeth Huggins
General Dentist
Dr. Elizabeth Appleby Huggins was born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina. She received her Bachelor of Science from Clemson University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a major in Health Science and a minor in Spanish. After Clemson, she attended the Medical University of South Carolina where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.
After dental school, Dr. Elizabeth had the opportunity to live and practice in both Florida and Colorado before returning home to South Carolina. She is forever grateful to the United States Air Force for the journey it provided for her and her family. She was able to work in a number of private dental practices across the country with amazing mentors and dental teams. Through this experience, she gained invaluable clinical knowledge as well as best practices for running a dental office. Dr. Elizabeth truly enjoys treating patients of all ages, including little ones! She has treated children throughout her dental career and is passionate about teaching them good dental habits early in life. Dr. Elizabeth has also been on several dental mission trips and desires to use her dental skills to serve those in need both locally and abroad. She has traveled to Nicaragua, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic.
When not at the dental office, you will find Dr. Elizabeth hanging out with her family either at home or around town. She and her husband have three kids and love going on family hikes or bike rides on the Swamp Rabbit Trail. They love Greenville and feel privileged to live in such a beautiful city.
Dr. Jenna Voegele
General Dentist
Dr. Jenna Voegele joined Huggins Dental in early 2025, bringing over a decade of clinical experience and a genuine enthusiasm for dentistry. She relocated to Greenville from Indiana in 2023 with her husband and two young children and was drawn to Huggins Dental’s clear commitment to ethical, high-quality care. Dr. Voegele shares that same philosophy and is dedicated to providing comprehensive, conscientious, and person-centered dentistry alongside the exceptional team at Huggins Dental.
Originally from Wisconsin (yes, she’s a proud cheesehead—though now a cold-intolerant one), Dr. Voegele earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison before completing her dental education at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. She graduated in 2011 with high honors and was inducted into the National Dental Honor Society. Following dental school, Dr. Voegele completed a General Practice Residency at the Washington, D.C. Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where she gained advanced training in complex procedures and the care of medically compromised patients. She later joined the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis, serving as a clinical dentist and residency program faculty member for nearly ten years. During this time, she mentored dental residents while providing comprehensive care to veterans—a population she holds in the highest regard. After relocating to Greenville, Dr. Voegele transitioned back into private practice to better serve her family, friends, and local community.
Dr. Voegele is committed to lifelong learning and professional growth. She participates in a local Spear Education Dental Study Club and has expanded her expertise in advanced Invisalign treatment through the Molis Coaching Curriculum. She has also served in leadership roles within organized dentistry, including board and delegate positions with the Indiana District Dental Society and the Indiana Dental Association, and was selected for Indiana AIR (Acceptance, Inclusion, Respect), a nationally recognized leadership development program.
Outside the office, Dr. Voegele enjoys staying active, spending time with her family, and traveling both stateside and abroad. Having grown up in the Midwest, she feels her core values—faith, family, service, and adventure—align closely with the Greenville community and she is grateful to share in and contribute to such a wonderful community.
